Four Ballarat calisthenics performers will represent the state in the calisthenics National Championships this July.

Ballaarat Solo Competition president Louise Brooks said their selection showed calisthenics was strong in Ballarat.

Madilyn Dawe, 9, Tilly Black,10, Zoe Gibson,14, and Ellie Lovison,12, will be among 93 performers to represent Victoria at the nationals.

“Every week they have to get up and go to Melbourne, they’ve got an hour and a half travel every single week.

“You’d have to have a lot of commitment and a lot of dedication and I think Ballarat is known in a lot of sports for that, that we do have people who get to the top levels in their sports.”

The national championships are held in Sydney from July 5 to 8.
