International Dance Day

“We’re all in this Together” Dance Project

We’re really excited about this.

Wednesday, 29 April is International Dance Day.

It seems really fitting that whilst the current phase of physical distancing is limiting our dancing opportunities, we can all join together and dance at the same time to acknowledge International Dance Day.

The Sarah England School of Dance has organised a dance project and invited dancers all over the world to participate by performing the same dance at the same time. Sarah has choreographed the routine, we just need to join in.

Sarah and her students will live stream themselves performing the routine via Zoom at 10.00am (that’s UK time so should be 7:00pm in Australia – if this time doesn’t suit, choose something around that timeslot).

Sarah has quoted her mother as saying :

“Everything is temporary, good or bad. and we will get through this, we will be stronger for it and literally the whole world is in this together, whatever walk of life”

So true.

How to participate

  • learn the fun dance, as per the video provided.  Or just copy the movements at the appropriate time.
  • perform the dance at about 7:00pm on April 29. You could do this individually or in your own class Zoom session.
  • take photos or videos and share on social media with the world

When sharing, use the hashtags: #yourclub #cali247 #sesd #allinthistogether #internationaldanceday
