Calisthenics Extravaganza

Friday 18th August

31 Victorian calisthenics students will feature in a special performance choreographed by Lucinda Williams and Jeanne Sorich.

This event is part of the  Changing Face of Victoria exhibition currently being held at the State Library of Australia.  The display depicts the history of calisthenics, showcasing materials from the archives of Vera E Hopton and designed to “tell the stories of the people, places and events that have shaped Victoria.”

Registration to the performance is required and can be booked at the State Library of Australia.

Changing Faces of  Victoria Exhibition

This exhibition is free and is open 10am–5pm daily.

The new exhibition also includes:

  • The premier and the pen – caricatures of Victorian premiers by Australian political cartoonists
  • additions to the Ned Kelly display
  • a display about two influential Indigenous community leaders, Maggie and Ernest Mobourne, who challenged government policy in the early 1900s.
  • World War II Centenary display
