Daily Dose of Eggs

It’s difficult to keep up with the latest findings on foods. Even eggs. At times they have been avoided because of fears that cholesterol causes heart disease. Then subsequent research indicated that there is actually no link between egg consumption and heart disease.

The current status seems to be that there are benefits of eating 2-3 eggs each day.

Benefits of Eggs

A study by Bright Side has reported on the benefits of eating 2-3 eggs each day. Their reasons include vitamins, reducing risk and slowing aging.


The vitamin choline is the most important building material of the brain and ensures normal communication of brain cells. Two eggs a day provide enough of this nutrient.


Chicken eggs are rich in lutein, which is the substance responsible for clear and sharp eyesight.

Vitamin D

A boiled egg conains the same amount of vitamin D as a spoonful of fish oil. Vitamin D helps calcium better absorb and strengthen bones and teeth.

Vitamin B12

Biotin, vitamin B12, and digestible nourishing proteins contribute to strengthening  hair and skin. Phospholipids contained in chicken eggs promote the elimination of toxins from the liver.


Cholesterol from eggs is balanced with phosphatides and actually inhibits the body’s own cholesterol productionEggs contain omega-3 acids which reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Weight Loss

American scientists claim that combining a low-calorie diet and eating chicken eggs for breakfast will aid weight loss. Eggs for brekky will leave you feeling full for a long time, therefore decreasing the amount of food consumed in a day.

Reduces Cancer Risk

Choline reduces the risk of cancer. Apparently, including eggs in the female adolescent diet can decrease the risks of developing breast cancer.

Folic Acid

Vitamin B9 (folic acid) is important in for development of red blood cells and the neural tube during pregnancy.

Slows Aging

A Dutch study showed that:

  • In 87% of women from 35 to 40 years old, age spots disappeared and skin lifted.
  • In men, the wrinkles around the eyes noticeably smoothed.
